Patricia J. Kennedy was named to the Council of Trustees in October 2016.
A 1985 graduate of Edinboro University, Ms. Kennedy earned a juris doctor from The Dickinson School of Law. She is the Chief Public Defender of Erie County, Pennsylvania, and previously served as an assistant public defender and assistant district attorney.
Ms. Kennedy is a member of the Erie County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Coalition for Justice, and the National Association of Drug Court Professionals. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Rules Committee, 2007-2013, and its vice chair, 2011-2013.
Her work in support of the University has included serving as a member of the Edinboro University Foundation Board of Directors. She is a member of the Edinboro University Communications Department Advisory Board.
Ms. Kennedy grew up in Edinboro, and her father, Dr. James Kennedy, was an EU professor of psychology.
