Dear Faculty, Staff, Students and Friends of the University,
As you know, this fall we have been engaged in a planning process to refine Edinboro University’s mission, vision and values, and to set goals for the future. As part of this process, you were invited to participate in a series of Focus Groups to ensure the broadest possible array of voices and perspectives were included in the University’s planning for the future. In the Focus Group meetings, members of our campus community shared their ideas, concerns and hopes for the University. We also formed a Core Planning Team that includes a variety of representatives from across the University and the broader community. This group has been meeting weekly to craft revised mission, vision and values statements and, ultimately, strategic goals for 2013-2018. In an effort to continue the openness, transparency and inclusiveness that we value, the Core Planning Team welcomes your input on these proposed statements.
To that end, you are invited to attend two Open Forums on Tuesday December 4th from 8-9:30 in the Pogue Center Multi-Purpose Room and Wednesday December 5th from 3:00-4:30 in Van Houten South. Light refreshments will be available at each meeting. The Core Team members also want to urge department heads to make time for discussion of these statements in a department meeting in the next two weeks and to send a department representative to one of the Open Forums. In addition, we have set up an electronic comment feature below where you can post feedback.
We encourage you to submit feedback before December 11th when the Team will meet to consider all feedback and incorporate it, as appropriate, into the statements and the goals that will be developed next.
Thank you for your engagement in this planning process. We need to hear your voice and we value your participation.
Julie Wollman, on behalf of the Core Planning Team members
