Volunteer Programs
The Community Outreach Center accepts applications for AmeriCorps*VISTA positions when they are available. It is a full-time, one-year position usually beginning in August. The VISTA’s major responsibilities are to work in conjunction with local agencies that service children and youth in poverty and to train college student volunteers to work in conjunction with new and existing programs for this population. The package includes a monthly allowance of $765, health insurance and a post-service $4,725 education award or a $1,200 cash stipend (member’s choice).
