Social Work
Edinboro University has the only accredited Master of Social Work degree program in northwestern Pennsylvania. As a result, students can earn both the bachelor's degree and master's degree at one institution in five years.
Accreditation
The Bachelor of Social Work degree program has been accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 1992.
Internships
Erie Family Center, GECAC Drug and Alcohol and Area Agency on Aging, Mental Health Association, Center for Family Services, Hispanic American Council, Sarah Reed Children's Center and Retirement Center, Erie City School District, Millcreek Community Hospital, Crawford County Hospice Brighter Horizons Behavioral Health, and Youth Advocate Program.
Travel Opportunities
Social Work students attend statewide conferences and events supported by the National Association of Social Workers.
Graduate School
95 percent of our students who apply are accepted to graduate schools. Most are accepted into advanced standing programs.

Social Work graduates are enjoying careers all over the world with such employers as: University of Chicago and University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Highlights
Faculty members recently received a grant from the Stackpole-Hall Foundation for a cultural exchange with South Carolina State University, a historically black school. Students shared learning and living experiences for one week on each campus. The cultural exchange gave students the opportunity to experience life from a minority perspective. Research activities measured faculty and student perceptions of campus climate.
