The Studio Arts - Illustration program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of a broad range of techniques and illustration issues, both formal and conceptual. The curriculum is designed to help students develop a personal aesthetic, a cohesive body of portfolio work and a professional demeanor.
Under the direction of faculty members that are dedicated to supplementing and enriching their experience and understanding of the field of illustration, students will develop individually as artists. The program is taught by four faculty with broad experience in the sub-fields of editorial, medical and scientific, commercial and children's book illustration. The faculty are designers, painters, printmakers and digital artists as well as illustrators.
The illustration concentration emphasizes the development of skills and knowledge to meet the demands of personal and professional endeavors. Illustration students will receive copious opportunities to explore and determine the best fit for them in this highly diverse field.
