          The department now offers a concentration in digital media production, which emphasizes photojournalism, video production and podcasting, as well as audio and video documentary.

          Anthony LoPinto, '14 and Patrick Nuzzo, '14 were nominated for an Emmy Award for Digital Innovation for their work on the project "ESPN on Snapchat Discover."

            The Department of Communication, Journalism and Media prepares students for a variety of careers in mass media, public relations, sales and related industries. Program graduates are able to effectively speak, write, create, persuade, lead, think critically and work with others – life-long skills identified by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) as the most important qualities employers seek in new hires.

            Department faculty possess a broad range of academic credentials and extensive professional and teaching experience in areas including public relations, digital production, print media, training and consulting, organizational leadership, persuasion and sales, health communication and intercultural communication. Majors work one-on-one with faculty members to customize a plan of study that reflects the interests of each individual student.

            The Department maintains a variety of digital production studios and media labs, as well as a television studio, weekly campus newspaper, and 3,000-watt non-commercial radio station. Students from all academic departments are encouraged to become involved in a variety of professionally-based co-curricular activities, including our campus media organizations (ETV, The Spectator and WFSE-FM), Applied Communicators of Edinboro (ACE) and award-winning chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
