Fantastic internships and job opportunities await students in the Mathematics and
Computer Science Department at PennWest Edinboro.
Internships
Providing excellent internship opportunities is a priority for the University, and
the stories of student success in the workplace have been overwhelming.
Edinboro Mathematics and Computer Science students have interned at Idaho National
Lab, Argonne National Lab, Erie Insurance, The Ladders in New York City, Liberty Electronics,
Wal-Mart headquarters in Arkansas, Community Resources for Independence, Federal Express,
Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, Plastek, Lord Corporation, Hamot Hospital,
Thiel College, Crawford County Information Technology Services, Northwest Savings
Bank, State Farm Insurance and many more locations.
While some PennWest Edinboro majors require an internship, cooperative education,
student teaching or research experience, many students elect to pursue an internship
to augment their educational portfolio. Every major has one or more designated internship
directors to assist students with identifying opportunities and coordinating credits.

The Boro Center for Career Development assists students at the onset of their professional lives with many outstanding services,
including building resume, interviewing and networking skills and offering numerous
job fair opportunities annually both on- and off-campus.

Tom Stuczynski ’13, B.S. in Computer Science, is a software engineer at Microsoft, an author, blogger,
and mobile app developer, Redmond, Wash.
Daniel Taylor ’08, B.S. in Computer Science, is a software development engineer at Amazon.com.
Nathan Christy ’06, B.S. in Computer Science, was first hired as a software engineer at Erie Insurance
before graduation and currently works at Google, specializing in automated test infrastructure
and development.
Brandon Vargo ’04, B.S. in Mathematics – Actuarial Concentration, is a descriptive statistician 2 for
the Pennsylvania Department of Health under the Bureau of Health Statistics and Research.
Dr. Courtney Nagle ’04, B.A. in Mathematics, works as an assistant professor at Penn State Behrend.

Dr. Peggy Cebe ’70/’75, B.A. in Physics/M.S. in Mathematics, is a professor of physics and astronomy at
