The Xavier D. Williams Distinguished Speaker Series was established by Honored Alumnus Xavier D. Williams in order to bring business professionals to the University to speak on matters affecting the economic welfare of every level of enterprise and educate students in a setting where they can apply class material and build a professional network. The Xavier and Tina Williams Summer Youth Business Academy is a summer program designed for high school students who are interested in the field of business. The Academy occurs over five days with multiple workshops, field trips and social events as well as seminars that focus on team-building, business strategy, problem-solving and much more. The PASSHE Annual Business Plan Competition, funded by grants and scholarships, creates a marketing tool for small businesses to reach out to college students. This competition offers students the opportunity to showcase ideas they've developed that have commercial potential and to win seed money to help get their businesses off the ground.
