          Undergraduate degree programs in early childhood, special and preschool education (AS), and MEd programs in early childhood education and reading, as well as graduate certificates in early childhood education (grades PK-4), instructional technology and reading specialist, prepare teachers to be effective advocates for learning and positive change.

          EU professor publishes third article in international education journal.

            The Department of Early Childhood and Reading is committed to offering outstanding educational experiences that provide the knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary for students to become effective facilitators of learning in the classroom.

            With a highly experienced faculty engaged in ongoing research, scholarship and service, the Department produces highly qualified graduates of diverse backgrounds who possess foundational understandings of early childhood and American education. They enter the classroom with the ability to implement appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate learning, and are able to recognize and understand the professional, social and ethical responsibilities associated with early childhood education.

            Through the promotion of excellence in the classroom and in research and scholarship, the Department seeks to encourage the ideals of American citizenship and to improve the quality of life for all people in a diverse and technologically sophisticated society.
