First Annual Undergraduate Conference

EDINBORO UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA

Five students presented papers at the first annual Undergraduate conference.
The authors and their papers:
- Lisa Carter, Demonized and Demoralized: The Loyalists of the American Revolution.
- Gary Cirelli, Grozny: Ivan IV and Novgorod.
- Sheena Conklin, Injustice during World War II.
- Marci Dixon, John Kennedy and Civil Rights: Does He Deserve the Credit
and Is He the Only President who Deserves the Credit?
- Devin Nuhfer, Virginia’s Shadow: Mosby’s Confederacy and the Effects of
Partisan Warfare.
Two graduate students in the Master of Arts–Social Sciences program served
as commentators: Michael Frawley and Tanya Teglo. Presiding at the session was
Dr. Ihor Bemko, Associate Professor, History.
After the presentations, faculty members, Drs. Jerra Jenrette, Xin Chen, Martha
Donkor, and Bemko caucused with the commentators to evaluate the presentations.
Gary Cirelli's Grozny: Ivan IV and Novgorod. was the consensus choice.
