Counseling Program

The Counseling Program provides graduate training in professional counseling, resulting in the Master of Arts degree.  Five programs comprise the Counseling Program. They include rehabilitation counseling, elementary guidance, secondary guidance, community counseling and student personnel services in higher education.

Program review studies are conducted periodically and these studies are public information.  They are kept in the office of the Dean of Education and may be viewed by members of the public upon request.

All programs in this department involve entrance requirements, coursework, comprehensive exams and internships.  Entrance requirements include taking the Miller Analogy Test or the Graduate Record Exam.  Admissions are primarily based on entrance examination scores, letters of recommendation and previous grade point averages.  It is desirable to be above average in both performances.  Application materials and more specific information may be obtained from the listing below:
