Inter-Generational Effects of Divorce Study

Dr. Taylor and several students are collecting interviews of children of divorced parents who are also divorced.  The study is attempting to discover some of the long term effects of parental divorce upon individuals and what predicts children's divorces.  Several students have volunteered to participate in the anonymous interviews.  Please contact Dr. Taylor if you are interested in participating.

Replication of the Albert Bandura Aggression Experiment

Drs. Taylor and Chompalov replicated the famous Bandura study of aggression and are currently working on a paper for publication.  The study confirmed Bandura's original finding: positively rewarded role-molded aggression is highly likely to be enacted by children.

Dr. Seuss and Gender Role Stereotypes

Dr. Taylor's students conducted a content analysis of popular children's books, such as Dr. Seuss and Bernstein's Bears to uncover latent messages about gender.  As suspected, these books are full of inaccurate stereotypes related to male and female roles in life.  This work has been accepted for publication at the Journal of Teaching Sociology.
