Select two of the main themes of conflict theory and write an essay about each.

• Class conflict
• Alienation
• Power
• Economic foundations of society
• Mode of Production
• Ideology
• Class Consciousness/False Consciousness

For each essay, you will use a variety of theorists to help you define the concept and explain the different ways of looking at it. For example, if you choose power for one of your essays, you can discuss how several different theorists define and use the concept in their theories. Coser, Collins, Blumberg, and Chafetz all discussed power at length. Additionally, you must include the ideas of feminism in at least one of your two essays.

Each essay is worth 50 points.
