Our Mission Statement
Communication is central and common to all human behavior. An accurate and comprehensive understanding of its forms, effects and significance is critical to all we do today in today's and tomorrow's world. The purpose of the Department of Speech and Communication Studies is to engage in teaching, research, analysis, practice, study and service based on artistic, humanistic, and scientific principles related to communication and communication disorders. We will establish, expect, and extend the highest performance standards as we identify, address, and meet the communication-related needs and objectives of our students as well as our other significant constituencies--the business, social, political, professional, and educational communities in the region and beyond. |
