Edinboro University follows a rolling admissions policy which means decisions are reached on complete applications soon after all necessary materials are received by the University. Students will usually be informed of the admissions decision approximately two to three weeks after the Admissions Office receives the complete application and accompanying materials. High school students may apply anytime after July 1st, following their junior year. Non-traditional, adult students are asked to submit a resume of employment history and activities since high school graduation, or last attendance at another college, university, trade school, etc.

The following steps are essential for completion of an application for admission to Edinboro University.
1. Application. Please complete all portions which apply to you. Incomplete responses could delay the processing of this application.
2. Application fee. A non-refundable $30 application fee is paid online via credit card, debit card, or electronic check. The application fee may be waived based on eligibility.
3. Secondary School Transcript. An official high school transcript must be requested by you from your guidance counselor and forwarded directly from the high school to the Edinboro University Admissions Office. Students who received a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) must forward their score report and an official high school transcript, up to the point of withdrawal, to the Edinboro University Admissions Office.
4. Admissions Examination. Each applicant for admission should participate in either the SAT or the ACT. Students may request to have their SAT or ACT scores sent directly to Edinboro University. When registering for either exam, please use the following codes:
- Edinboro University’s SAT code: 2651
- Edinboro University’s ACT code: 3702
5. Waiver of Examination. Students who have been out of high school for more than two years are not required to participate in a college entrance examination (SAT or ACT). There are a few exceptions to this policy, i.e., Nursing, LECOM seven-year medical program, etc. Please check with the Undergraduate Admissions Office if you have questions on whether or not you should take the SAT/ACT examinations.
Instructions for Transfer Students
1. Definition of a Transfer Student. Students who have been enrolled in any post-secondary (community college, technical/trade, four-year public/private, etc.) institution other than Edinboro since high school graduation, regardless of length of time attended, are classified as transfer students. Follow steps #1 and #2 above, and then continue below.
2. Admissions Examination. Students who have completed one full semester at another college, prior to Edinboro, do not need to take the SAT or ACT.
3. Transcripts. Official transcripts of the applicant's record at each institution, including high school, must be submitted to the Edinboro University Admissions Office. High school transcripts will not be required for transfer students who have competed 30 or more transferable semester- hours of credit. If incomplete transcripts are filed, it is the student's responsibility to have final transcripts, which include final grades for the most recent courses scheduled, sent to the Edinboro University Admissions Office. An evaluation of previously completed courses and credits will be conducted by Edinboro University to determine the number which will be transferable and counted toward graduation from Edinboro. Edinboro University will also verify prior enrollment history, through the National Student Clearinghouse, for all incoming students.
- All documents submitted to the University on behalf of a student's request for admission become the property of Edinboro University and cannot be returned.
- Upon enrollment, a report of medical history is required.
