If you are enrolled in a degree or certificate program at Edinboro University, you may be able to earn undergraduate credit for what you have learned through employment or other activities. You may earn life experience credits by developing portfolios that document your learning and experience as they relate to specific courses. The learning experiences must be equivalent to what would otherwise be achieved through coursework at the University.
The Office of Adult Student Services administers the life experience process. Students submit a one-time application, the portfolio(s) documenting their experience, and all fees to the Office of Adult Student Services. Before you apply, discuss your plans with this office, your Advisor and the Chair and/or faculty in the appropriate academic area(s). These individuals can help you be successful in your pursuit of credit.
Please allow approximately 30 days from the time you submit your portfolio for the evaluation to be completed.
CHARGES
Application fee............................................................$25.00
Evaluation:
One department......................................................$100.00
Each additional department..................................$50.00
Transcript posting fee...............................................$25.00 per credit
Application and evaluation fees are both due when the portfolio is submitted to the Office of Adult Student Services. The transcript posting fee is not due unless/until life experience credit has been granted.
