3+4 Program in Dental Medicine

Edinboro University students can now get an early start on a dental school education. Edinboro has established an affiliation with the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, enabling Edinboro University pre-dental biology majors to enter Kornberg after their junior year of college. The agreement establishes a 3 plus 4 program in dental medicine practice between the two schools, which refers to three years undergraduate study at Edinboro and four years of dental school at Kornberg. Students who successfully complete their first year of studies at Kornberg will earn a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from Edinboro.

Once admitted, students must maintain at least a 3.2 grade point average overall and in all required science and math courses for their first three years at Edinboro University. Then to be admitted to Kornberg, students must earn minimum scores as determined by the School of Dentistry.

The 3 plus 4 program in dental medicine provides students with an interest in dentistry the advantage of complementary program strengths at Edinboro University and a dental education at Kornberg.

Prospective students should realize that there is intense competition for dental schools, and Edinboro University and Kornberg can't guarantee admission to any student.
