Dahlkemper Congressional Internship Program
Unpaid internships are available throughout the year, on either a full-time or part-time basis, in the Washington, D.C., and District office of Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper (PA-03).  Internships are available to high school graduates and are commonly filled by undergraduate, graduate or law students.
Duties vary widely and include, but are not limited to: working with legislative staff drafting responses to constituent mail, monitoring hearings, and doing background research on legislative issues; working with district aides to help constituents resolve problems with government agencies; working with district staff to seek sources of grant funding for constituents; working with press staff on press outreach and information gathering projects; providing support work for schedulers and office managers; processing mail, answering phones and other various staff support work.

Dolphin Research Center is pleased to announce several internship opportunities for the Winter quarter.  Internships involve concentration in specific departments and normally last 12 to 18 weeks. Interns work forty hours per week and spend four days per week in their specific department and one day per week as a general volunteer. Animal Care and Training:

This position is a support role to our education staff, and may involve: assisting with the coordination of students involved in the week-long DolphinLab program, file and records maintenance, handling information requests and other correspondence, preparing DolphinLab participant notebooks, assisting with other public educational programs as necessary, attending department meetings and recording minutes. This position may also involve teaching workshops and seminars, observing and assisting with outreach presentations, assisting with library and resource maintenance and assisting with data collection for on-going research projects. The Education Intern may also be required to develop and complete a special project that will both benefit the Education Department and enhance his/her experience.
This position is a support role to our Research department and may involve: collecting data in daily observational research sessions, assisting in setting up and tearing down equipment for behavioral research sessions, operating video equipment, entering research data, and various other support duties as required. Information Technology internships are available for students pursuing a Bachelor or Masters degree in an IT-related discipline.  Applications are currently being accepted from students who have at minimum completed their sophomore year and have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.  Students also need to live or go to school within approximately 250 miles of Erie's Home Office and be an active student at the time of the internship. 

This is a paid internship and temporary housing assistance is available for those who do not have a residence within a reasonable commuting distance.  IT interns will be assigned to one of the following disciplines within our IT Division.

Programmer Trainee Intern:  Assists in writing basic programming specifications, coding computer programs and testing and implementing computer software systems and programs.

Quality Assurance Intern:  Assists with data collection, testing and compiling expected results.

Technical Writing Intern:  Assists with creating and updating documentation, including building online versions of manuals. 

Systems Administration Intern:  Assists in the administration and develops a working knowledge of ERIE's operating systems and subsystems.
