Description: Students are assigned positions in state government executive offices under the Governor's jurisdiction and attend seminars with leading elected or appointed public officials and media figures. Interns must be available for placement during the summer for 8 - 10 weeks, generally beginning in late May and ending in mid to late August. Selection consists of a panel of distinguished judges. Emphasis is placed on a student's background, civic endeavors and career interests, and on a designated written essay on a political science theme. Winners are announced in late March at a luncheon in the Governor's Residence.
