  • Butler County Community College - EUP Partnership

We hope that you will consider pursuing your bachelors degree in Elementary Education (as of Fall 2010, degree will become Early Childhood-Pre K-4) through the Butler County Community College (BC3)-Edinboro University partnership program.  As the result of arrangements made between our two institutions, you can begin taking classes towards your four year teaching degree without ever leaving the local area!  In fact, it is now possible to earn both a bachelors and masters degree in education from Edinboro University, and do it all while remaining in the Butler/Lawrence County community.

About the Partnership
A student typically will begin taking Edinboro University (EUP) coursework as a special student while enrolled in Butler County Community College's Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree in Elementary Education.  Each semester you will enroll in the designated EUP course(s) to be taught at BC3, while concurrently taking additional, approved BC3 courses that will transfer into EUP's Education curriculum.  A student will pay the regular Edinboro tuition and fees for the EUP course(s), but the bill will originate from and will be payable to BC3, along with the costs for the BC3 courses taken that semester.  All financial aid a student is eligible for will be awarded by the home institution (BC3 for the first two years or four semesters, & Edinboro University for the last two years or four semesters).  An EUP class may be taught face-to-face, online, or a combination of the two at the BC3 campus.  A student will never be required to travel to Edinboro to complete the degree!  If you are interested in pursuing a 4-year degree at a fraction of the cost of more traditional ways, this partnership with Edinboro University may be ideal for you.
