The Edinboro
University Regional Math and Science Center is currently supported by
the Collaborative for Excellence in Teacher Preparation - Pennsylvania
(CETP-PA) grant at Edinboro University and the Department of Elementary
Education. The Center was initially established in 1993 through funds
from the Dwight D. Eisenhower Mathematics and Science Postsecondary
Federal Grant Program. The Center was supported with Eisenhower higher
education funding from 1993-1999. This Center was created to enhance
the teaching skills of math and science teachers and preservice
teachers by providing information, workshops, and access to math and
science materials. The long-term goal of the center is to establish a
common vision of excellence for math and science education in northwest
Pennsylvania and to foster a spirit of collaborative partnership among
math and science teachers. All public and private school elementary
math/science teachers in Crawford, Erie, and Warren counties and
teacher education students at Edinboro University are eligible to
participate.
