Faculty Spotlight

Dr. Jo Ann Holtz
Ph. D. – Curriculum and Instruction with Literacy Emphasis
Kent State University
Dr. Holtz has served the Elementary, Middle, and Secondary Education Department and the University in many ways through the years. She currently serves on the university wide Curriculum Committee and is the director of the PennLake Writing Project, one of the National Writing Project sites. Dr. Holtz has presented at international, national, regional, state and local conferences. Her work has been recognized through awards like the Lucile Cornetet Award for Professional Development from The Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation and the NWP 2012-2013 SEED Grant for Professional Development in a High-Need School.
Dissertation: Gender Differences in Attitudes about Writing: A Comprehensive Study of Male and Female College Writers
