Student writers of the English and Liberal Studies Department collaborate annually with student artists of the Art Department in the production and publication of the literary/arts magazine Chimera. Its contents include poetry, fiction, and visual arts products written and created by students from all parts of the campus. The magazine's annual debut is celebrated in a gathering that has come to be called the chimera soirée. In the past several years, the magazine has been awarded several national and local prizes for its contents.
