Sigma Gamma Epsilon (SGE) is a national honor society that recognizes scholarship in the earth sciences. The EUP SGE Zeta Epsilon Chapter is one of nearly 200 chapters nationwide. The Society promotes the scholastic, scientific, and professional advancement of its members. The organization was founded in 1915 at the University of Kansas. Formal membership in SGE requires that students complete at least 10 semester hours in earth science coursework, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in all of their earth science courses, and maintain an overall 2.67 GPA overall. However, the EUP SGE meetings and activities are open to any EUP student with an interest in earth sciences and we encourage such students to attend. More information concerning SGE can be found at the Society's webpage at: http://www.sigmagammaepsilon.com/index_files/Page375.htm
