Alumni News

 

Our graduates typically pursue careers working with state and federal government agencies, the oil and gas industry, as area specialists, cartographers, environmental managers, conservation agents, environmental consultants, and urban and community planners. Our alumni are enjoying careers all over the world with employers as diverse as the University of Southern Mississippi, Exxon Mobil Corporation, Environ Corporation, Asbury Woods Nature Center, the Erie County Department of Planning, the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Booz Allen Hamilton Consultants, Moody and Associates, Inc., the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, the Crawford County Conservation District, and the PA Department of Environmental Protection.

Many of our graduates decide to pursue graduate work in their fields of expertise. Those that pursue graduate studies typically secure paid teaching and research assistantships at schools such as the University of Montana, Bowling Green University, the University of Delaware, North Carolina State, and the University of Hawaii.

Here is a sampling of what some our graduates are up to:

  • Ms. Jill Rozycki Dunphy  (B.S. Geology)  is currently an Associate Geologist with CH2M Hill in California.
  • Mr. Gerald Robinson (B.S. Geology / Environmental Science) is currently employed as a Case Manager with Groundwater and Environmental Science  in Warrendale, PA.
  • Ms. Jennifer Showman (B.S. Geology / Environmental Science) has accepted a position as a Geologic Trainee with the PA Dept. of Environmental Protection in Meadville, PA.
  • Ms. Angie Bell (B.S. Geology) received a M.S. in Geology from the University of Montana and is currently working as a geologist with the U.S Forest Service Service at Klamath National Forest in California.
  • Mr. Patrick Yeager ( B.S. Geology  / Environmental Science) is employed as a Geologic Technician for Northwest Colorado Consulting.
  • Ms. Mellisa Ballard (B.S. Geology) is a Staff Geologist for WRScompass.
  • Mr. Michael Murphy (B.A. Geography / Environmental Studies) is working as a GIS Specialist for the Wiser Company in Tennessee.
  • Ms. Christina Durkee (B.S. Geology / Environmental Science) is a Drafting and Geologic Technician for Moody and Associates, Inc. in Meadville, PA.
  • Ms. Mary Ann Costello Hadden (B.A. Geography) was recently promoted to Staff Environmental Scientist within the Division of Environmental Planning and Management with the California State Lands Commission and honored with a Superior Accomplishment Award by the Division of Drinking Water and Environmental Management with the California Department of Public Health.
  • Ms. Christina Myers (B.S. Geology) is currently working as an Environmental Geologist at EMH&T, which is the largest civil engineering company in central Ohio.
  • Mr. Todd Higby (B.S. Geology / Environmental Science)  is employed as a Geologic Technician for Moody and Associates, Inc. in Meadville, PA.
