- Instructions for Admission
Applicants are encouraged to submit all required credentials at the time of application. Doing so allows for the most timely review of student files by the respective departmental program. Applications cannot be processed or evaluated until they are complete.
The following 10 steps will get you started in the enrollment process.
1) Schedule your Miller Analogies Test (MAT), Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), whichever is required for your intended program of study.
2) If your program requires them, have letters of recommendation written for you. Recommenders are to:
- Return sealed envelopes to you to include with your application or mail directly to: Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, School of Graduate Studies and Research, 148 Meadville Street, Edinboro, PA. 16444.
3) Transcripts:
- Have the registrar send an official transcript of your academic record directly to: Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, School of Graduate Studies and Research, 148 Meadville Street, Edinboro, PA. 16444. Edinboro University graduates should submit a student copy of their transcript.
- Include transcripts for each degree you have earned, or from any college or university from which you attended orwish to transfer credits.
- In many cases, a transcript submitted will benecessarily incomplete because it will be submitted before a degree is granted. If an applicant is accepted into our graduate program, a complete transcript must be submitted to the School of GraduateStudies and Researchas soon as that completed transcript is available. A complete transcript shows not only your academic record, but that a degree was awarded. If a degree-conferred transcript is not received, a hold will be placed on your student account.
4) If you are requesting transfer credits, these forms must be submitted with your application.
5) Completely fill-out the Application for Graduate Studies.
6) Although you will have requested that Edinboro University of Pennsylvania receive the official results of your MAT, GMATor GRE scores, please make a photocopy of your test results and include that copy in your application.
7) Include a photocopy of your teaching certificate if you are applying for admission to a master of education or a non-degree certification program.
8) If you submit a paper application, write a check or money order in the amount of $30.00 (non refundable application fee) or $7.00 if you previously attended Edinboro, payable to "EDINBORO UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA." Cash cannot be accepted.
9) Submit a complete Assistantship Application if you wish to be considered. Include a resume and a copy of your transcript(s). The deadline for fall consideration is February 15th (February 1st for art programs). The spring deadline is October 15th.
10) Inform the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD), 814-732-2462, if you have a disability of which you wish the University to be aware.
Credentials will be kept on file for one year. At the end of that time period, incomplete graduate applications will be purged.

Although these individuals have not been admitted to the graduate program, they may be authorized to enroll for courses if they apply for non-degree special student status, however:
1) It is understood that this authorization does not guarantee or imply that admission to a degree program will be granted.
2) It is understood that no more than nine semester hours of graduate credit earned prior to the date of the official acceptance to admission to a graduate program will be accepted toward meeting the minimum requirements of the program.
3) It is understood that if admission is granted prior to the last day of the semester or session that all applicable credits earned in that semester or session will be accepted toward meeting program requirements.
4) It is understood that special students are not eligible, according to Pennsylvania State Guidelines, for Stafford Loans.
