- RISE programs
The Dean of Graduate Studies and Research approved funding for research competitions. The Research Incentive and Scholarly Effort (RISE) programs are available to all departments who directly report to the Provost.
The RISE programs will provide funds for student employment (faculty proposals), travel, subsistence, supplies (including animals), and/or equipment. It is expected that the competition for each program will be held in the fall each year.
The three programs are:
- Small Research Opportunities (SRO)
- Graduate Research Opportunities (GRO)
- Opportunities for Undergraduate Research (OUR)
The SRO program will provide up to one award for each academic area (arts, education, business and sciences). This is a peer reviewed competition. The SRO winners will present their research/results during the Dean’s Research Colloquium.
The OUR and GRO programs will provide up to one award for each academic area described above. The OUR/GRO winners also will present their research/results during the Dean’s Research Colloquium.
As research at EUP grows, it is anticipated that the RISE programs will continue to evolve. The Dean’s expectation for these programs is to encourage more investigative inquiry that is the foundation of institutions of higher education.
