- Sport Administration
The Sport Administration track is designed to prepare students with the necessary skills to become successful managers or directors in sport related organizations. This program combines coursework from the disciplines of physical education, communication, and journalism. Examples of Sport Administration employment opportunities include minor and major professional sport teams, ticket operations, sport-governing bodies, interscholastic and intercollegiate athletic departments, and sport facility operations.
In addition to the program's required coursework, students will obtain valuable work-site related experiences in an athletic environment during their junior year. Sport Administration majors will also complete a 12-credit internship requirement in a sport related agency or organization during their last semester of academic study.
This curriculum coincides with the Mission Statement of Edinboro University by providing an undergraduate discipline to minority international, non-traditional, and traditional, and physically disabled students. In addition, the Sport Administration curriculum possesses a strong component of general education for students to develop an interest in values and to encourage intellectual pursuits, personal development, and commitment to life-long learning and services.
