RN-BSN Nursing Program
|
![]() |
The RN-BSN program provides students with education in the areas of community/public health nursing, nursing leadership, management, applications of nursing research and evidence-based care. The program is designed for currently licensed nurses(RNs) whose pre-licensure program in their home country was either a 2 or 3 year associate degree program. The Edinboro degree program can be completed in three semesters. Generally, RNs with at least a 4 year bachelor's degree will have better job prospects than those without a bachelor's degree and have greater opportunities for advancement and specialization.
One of the strengths of the Edinboro experience will be that foreign educated nursing students will be integrated into classes with other American students to continually assist in developing their cultural understanding and language skills.
The Edinboro University Department of Nursing has received accreditation for its baccalaureate nursing programs from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The Nursing Department currently includes 20 faculty members and over 400 students.
It is the philosophy of the nursing faculty that we can best facilitate social and professional mobility for the RN student through entrance and placement into this baccalaureate program. The faculty believes that the RN student is motivated and brings previous education and experience as a foundation for baccalaureate education.
