Abstract: This is a collection of 33 1/3 albums containing the "This is Pennsylvania" recording done by Pete Wambach. The segments, each about three minutes long, were broadcast over the radio throughout Pennsylvania. Each recording segment highlights an event or place in Pennsylvania.

Acquisition Information: This collection was acquired by Professor John Fleming and then turned over to the archives.

Biography: Peter C. Wambach, Jr. was born on May 12, 1946 in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. He was the son of Peter C., Sr. and Margherita C. Zarbo Wambach. Mr. Wambach graduated from Bishop McDevitt high school in 1964, Harrisburg Area Community College in 1966 with an associate of art degree, and Pennsylvania State University in 1970 with a bachelor of science degree.

Peter Wambach was a member of many organizations including the United Steelworkers of America, 1967; Greater Harrisburg Board of Realtors, 1973-74; Order Sons of Italy Lodge #272; chapter chairman, board member, (outstanding volunteer 1975) Central Pennsylvania March of Dimes; Greater Harrisburg Branch NAACP; Midtown Square Action Council, Historic Harrisburg Association, Community Task Force for Revitalization and Rehabilitation; board member, Uptown Late Start Senior Citizen Center; board member, YMCA, Camp Curtin Branch; advisory board member, Program for Female Offenders, 4-H Clubs, Metro Arts, MADD; Central Cabinet Member, Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania; parish advisory council, Saint Lawrence Chapter; Saint Advisory Council; and the Dauphin Company Young Democrats.

Peter Wambach was elected to the House of Representatives on November 4, 1980. He was reelected in 1982, 1984, and 1986. Mr. Wambach married Nancy Virginia Barnes and has two children, Heather and Peter III. His home address is 108 Boas Street in Harrisburg.
