As chair of the Department of Elementary, Middle and Secondary Education, I would like to welcome you to our department. I hope that your visit to our web page is informative, whether you are simply browsing to learn more about us or whether you are interested in our degree programs.  The department offers undergraduate and graduate programs for middle level and secondary school teachers.Our programs are designed to provide initial licensure for those entering the teaching profession or advanced degrees for practicing teachers who wish to further develop their expertise.

Dr. Ziegler has held numerous positions in public education as a teacher, counselor, and school administrator before coming to Edinboro in 2009.  He is currently the Program Advisor for the Post-Masters Principal K-12 and Supervisory Programs, Chair of School of Education NCATE Dispositions Continuous Improvement Committee, Chair of the Middle and Secondary Educational and Educational Leadership Department (MSEL) Curriculum and Sabbatical Committees, and serves on the University-Wide Curriculum Committee (UWCC).
