The Jazz Combo is a chamber enemble that rehearses twice a week. The group's repertoire is taken from standard and non-traditional compositions. New compositions written by students are welcome as well. The Jazz Combo focuses on developing improvisational skills in addition to basic compositional skills used to arrange tunes in different styles. Basic knowledge of jazz is highly recommended to perform with this group. However, since the class will learn about improvisation and jazz style, advanced knowledge of jazz is not a perequisite. All instrumentalists are welcome including vocalists with a jazz background. The group meets twice a week and actively performs concerts throughout the year. For more information, please contact Dr. Jones.
