AUDITION REQUIREMENTS-CLARINET
Recommended or acceptable pieces for entrance examination:
Finzi “Five Bagatells”, Weber “Concertino”, Stamitz “Concerto no. 3 in Bb”, Schumann “Fantasy Pieces”, Saint-Saens “Sonata”, Mozart “Clarinet Concerto”, Danzi “Sonata Concertante in Bb”, Hindemith “Sonata”, Rabaud “Solo de Concours”
Etudes:
Rose “Etudes”, Voxman“ Selective Studies”, Baerman “Complete Method for Clarinet”, Klose “Complete Method for the Clarinet”, Kroepsch “416 Progressive Studies”
Scales:
Major scales up to four sharps and four flats. Knowledge of minor scales are a plus.
Technique that the student should demonstrate:
A full tone from low E to high E above the staff (three octaves.)

Other:
Basically, you should demonstrate fast as well as slow, lyrical playing. The pieces listed above are just suggestions. Any piece similar in level is also acceptable.

Major scales up to four sharps and four flats. Knowledge of minor scales are a plus.
Technique that the student should demonstrate:
Good, stable tone demonstrated with a chromatic scale from low Bb to high F.
