AUDITION REQUIREMENTS-VIOLIN-VIOLA
Recommended or acceptable pieces for entrance examination:
Two to three contrasting movements from Handel Sonatas, from Mozart, Bach,
Mendelssohn, or Bruch Concertos, Bach Unaccompanied Sonatas or similar
repertoire
Etudes:
Kreutzer, Kayser, Dont, Fiorillo, Flesch, Galamian or similar
Scales:
Two or three octave scales, in tune, any
tempo, as many keys as you can. Major AND Minor is a plus.
Technique that the student should demonstrate:
Good tuning skills. Some double stops.
