The Ralph Ackerman Scholarship
This scholarship of $400 is awarded annually to a prospective freshman who is enrolled in the BA Psychology Program. High school seniors who have been accepted into the Psychology Program are screened on the basis of high school grades and SAT scores. A Department committee then awards the scholarship to the prospective freshman with the greatest academic potential.
The Pauline Milles Scholarship
This scholarship of $400 is awarded annually to a junior psychology major based on academic performance and need. A Department committee screens juniors who earned at least a 3.3 grade point average.
The Dr. Jim Award
This scholarship of $600 is awarded annually to a psychology senior based on demonstrated interest and excellence in the behavioral and neural sciences. Interested students should submit a letter of recommendation from their research supervisor to the Financial Aid Office. A Department committee will screen the letters and review students' course experiences. A minimum QPA of 3.3 is required.
The John Schell Award
This $50 award is presented to the outstanding junior psychology major as determined by a vote of the Department faculty. The top five junior psychology majors, in terms of grades earned, are considered for this award.
The Julia Marshall Award
This $50 award is presented to the outstanding senior psychology major as determined by a vote of the Department faculty. The top five senior psychology majors, in terms of grades earned, are considered for this award.
The Outstanding Departmental Senior Award
This award is presented at the annual Celebration of Excellence awards ceremony and a red cord is given to the recipient to wear at May commencement. The top five senior psychology majors, in terms of grades earned and overall academic excellence, are considered for this award.
