CPT Jeremy J. McCrillis entered the United States Army in February of 2002 as a Petroleum Supply Specialist (92F) with the 1/112th PAARNG out of Erie, Pennsylvania. He commissioned as a 2LT in December 2004 through Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. His first duty assignment was Fort Hood, Texas where he was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 2-8 Cavalry as a Tank Platoon Leader. He deployed to Iraq for 15 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006 to 2008. Upon return from theater he immediately took command of the first Purple Heart Wounded Warrior Company in Army history at the Warrior Transition Unit at Fort Hood, Texas from 2008-2009. In May 2009 he reported to Fort Jackson, South Carolina for Adjutant General Captains Career Course. Upon graduating from AGCCC he reported to the 5th Armored Brigade, Division West, First Army at Fort Bliss, Texas where he was assigned as the Brigade S-1.
His military education includes the Petroleum Supply Specialist Course, Armor Officer Basic Course, and Adjutant General Captains Career Course. His civilian education includes a Bachelor Degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in Liberal Arts. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal-1 oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal-1 oak leaf cluster, Valorous Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Combat Action Badge. He is married to the former Ms. Kathryn Reichel and they have 1 child: Gage McCrillis.
