MSW Advanced Standing
Eligibility for advanced standing requires a completed baccalaureate degree in social work received from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE); a minimum QPA of 3.0. Admission to advanced standing is competitive and the amount of course credit waived is dependent on equivalency to courses at Edinboro University. Course syllabi may be requested. No credit will be given for life or work experience or by examination. Students admitted to Advanced Standing must complete all prerequisite courses and SOWK699: Introduction to Principles of Advanced Social Work Practice with a grade of B or better before being permitted to enroll in concentration courses SOWK 717, 719, 722, 723, 798, or 799. The Advance Standing program may be engaged either full-time or part-time.
