Social Work Club
The Social Work Club is a student-run organization which exists for the purpose of socialization, education, and community service. The club has speakers, field trips, and other activities. Over the past few semesters there have been speakers on domestic violence, mental health, and aging. Students are involved in service activities with the Edinboro Manor and other community projects.
Membership in the club helps the students make contacts both with other majors in the program and with professionals in the community. These contacts help make decisions about volunteer experiences, field education placements, and finding employment after graduation.
The Social Work Club is active in the affairs of the program and is a formally recognized student organization affiliated with the Student Government Association (SGA). SGA funds support many activities, including trips to professional statewide and local conferences.
Information about Social Work Club activities can be found on the bulletin board outside the department office (Butterfield 212) or from the faculty advisor and/or club officers.
