American Sociological Association (ASA)
The Mothership. If you need information about our discipline, this is the place to find it. Going to the national meeting in August is like a Comic Con, with theory and stats sprinkles on top. It has the same kind of enthusiastic and knowledgeable participants that you see at other conferences of like-minded, but very different people.
Society for Applied Sociology
This organization focuses on the "three different levels of practice in sociology; micro, meso, and maco," which "represent groupings of societies based on their scale."
Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD)
The International Sociology Honor Society. You have to have the grades for it, but if you do, it’s a worthwhile organization of which to be a part. In addition to this link, there is an AKD section on this site.
Pennsylvania Sociological Society
Pennsylvania’s own sociological organization. The organization itself and its annual meeting provide positive support and encouragement for faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students presenting their first papers.
North Central Sociological Association
The NCSA is a regional sociology association including: Eastern Illinois · Indiana · Michigan · Ohio · Kentucky · Western Pennsylvania · West Virginia · Ontario, Canada. It is another informative and supportive regional organization.
SocioWeb
This site is a behemoth. It contains a great deal of information about a variety of topics in sociology. It is searchable.
Theory.org.uk
A great site for media studies and theory. There are even links to view and/or purchase theorist trading cards. If you are taking theory, this site may help.
Online Dictionary of the Social Sciences
It is exactly what it says. The dictionary contains quite a number of definitions.
Elwell’s Glossary of Sociology
Someone took a good deal of time to compile these definitions.
Dead Sociologists Index
The title speaks for itself.
SocioSite: Famous Sociologists
This site provides links to articles and writing excerpts from each of the theorists highlighted.
The Sociological Imagination
This site is pure C. Wright Mills love. Though it does not focus on the man himself, there is much love and dedication to the concept of the sociological imagination.
