Mission Statement
The primary mission of the Department of Special Education and School Psychology is to develop in our students--through specialized study and experiences within the larger context of a general ("liberal arts") education--the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become effective, productive members of their chosen professions in special education, school psychology, or related fields in particular, and contributing members of society in general. We aim to instill in our students the drive to expand their knowledge and refine their skills throughout their careers and to communicate through their actions the highest standards of professionalism and a true respect for human diversity.
