Pheaa Grants

  PHEAA GRANTS

This program provides need-based state grant assistance of up to $3,900 per year. The PHEAA grant program is funded by the state of Pennsylvania and is administered by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). Students receive up to eight full-time semesters of PHEAA Grant assistance or 16 semesters of part-time assistance.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • The student must be a Pennsylvania resident.
  • The student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by May 1 each year.
  • The student must be enrolled on at least a half-time basis in a PHEAA-approved undergraduate program of study.
  • The student must be a high school graduate or the recipient of a GED.
  • The student must demonstrate academic progress for continued aid.
  • Award amounts may vary by housing choice of the stduent (commuter, dormitory, off-campus).

PHEAA Validation

Students may be selected by PHEAA for validation.  Students are required to submit tax information to PHEAA before grant money can be disbursed. This process is separate from the verification process where the school collects and reviews income tax information for Federal aid programs.  Students may contact PHEAA at 1-800-692-7392 for more information on the validation process.
