- Student Loan Information
Edinboro University participates in a variety of loan programs. All loans are subject to meeting eligibility requirements. Students are strongly encouraged to utilize federal student loan program funds before seeking alternative/private sources. Loans must be repaid and therefore you should select your lender carefully. Helpful tools are available to assist you in making an informed choice. A couple of sources have been identified under "Selecting a Lender".
Federal Perkins Loan
The Federal Perkins Loan awards, to students, are based on available funds. In general, Edinboro University will award these funds on an individual basis for those with the highest need. The maximum undergraduate loan is $5,500 and for graduates $8,000. Because funds are limited, the average loan is usually under $2000. The lender for the Federal Perkins Loan is Edinboro University of PA.
Federal Stafford Loan
The federal government offers two types of federal direct Stafford Loan programs.
-
The federal direct subsidized Stafford Loan which is need based.
-
The federal direct unsubsidized Stafford Loan which is not based on a need formula.
Yearly and aggregate loan limits apply to both programs.
