Don't miss out! Discuss your opportunities to enroll in this program with your guidance counselor.
High school students who are interested in taking university courses while still in high school may participate in Edinboro University's dual enrollment opportunities. The Regional Choice initiative is a program that is coordinated by the Northwest Tri-county Intermediate Unit in cooperation with the high schools in Erie and Crawford Counties. Generally, students are recommended by their guidance counselors for participation in the program and enroll in one or two general education courses each semester of their junior and senior year. Courses are offered at the Edinboro campus, the Bessemer Center in Meadville, the Porreco Center in Erie, and at the Regional Training Center which is adjacent to the Erie County Vo-tech School.
Some of the benefits for the student include:
- Completing university courses taught by highly qualified faculty while in high school
- Realizing a significant cost savings through reduced tuition and/or dual enrollment grant funding
- Using your time wisely in high school to gain an advantage when applying to universities
