- Student Network and PASSHE Accounts
Student EUP Network and PASSHE accounts are synchronized accounts so essentially they are the same account. These accounts are made up of a student's "Email Address" and a "Password". Email addresses are created for students when they are accepted at Edinboro University. They consist of an 8 digit random username with '@scots.edinboro.edu' appended to the end of that username. For example, if Jane Doe's username is "JD090345" her email address would be JD090345@scots.edinboro.edu. Initial eMail passwords are also randomly created and students must obtain their email address and initial password by logging in to the SCOTS system and then clicking on the "Personal Information" link to view their Live@edu account information. However, it is important to understand that a student's email account is separate from their EUP Network and PASSHE account. The only similarity is that the email address match and will always match but the passwords will only initially match until they are changed.
Changing Your EUP Network and PASSHE Account Password - You should change your password often and it is a requirement that you have to change your password within every 90 days. You should also change it whenever you suspect that your password has been compromised. To do this, choose one of the scenarios below:
- If you know your current password and you wish to change it then go to SCOTS Tools and login with your current email address and password and follow the instructions accordingly
- If you do not know your current password you cannot use SCOTS Tools to change it. Then you must follow these instructions:
1. Go to the Password Reset page and enter your User ID and Birthdate then click on the "Submit Request" button. This will check to ensure your User ID and Birthdate are in the system and that they match. This will submit a process to "RESET" your password back to the original password you were given when your account was created. This process runs every 5 minutes so please give it up to 5 minutes to complete. You will not receive a confirmation unless there is an error, otherwise assume that the process is working.
2. To obtain your original password, login to SCOTS with your SCOTS ID and PIN and click on "Personal Information" and then click on the "View Live@edu Information" link to retrieve your password.
3. Login to SCOTS Tools with your email address and your original password and then you can change your password by following the directions within SCOTS Tools.
