Edinboro University implements a print quota to control usage of consumable resources such as paper, toner and life cycles of our printing resources. Currently print quotas are enforced on all student accounts on a majority of computer lab printers. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to understand how to print only the pages needed on any printer to help reduce waste and wasted resources.

Students are allocated 150 pages at the beginning of each Fall semester and are given an additional 150 pages at the beginning of each Spring semester. We do not increase the quotas during the summer semesters but we do allocate 150 pages for all new students during the summer. All student account quotas are removed at the end of the summer and reset to 150 pages. Our statistics show that less than 10% of all students print more than 150 pages during one semester. A web-based tool has been created to allow any student access to their current available quota as well as options to increase their quota any time. Please note that the current cost per page for printing to printers within the print quota system is .04 cents for each black & white page and $1.00 for each color page printed.
