Student Email and EUP Network Accounts

Student eMail is hosted by Microsoft and through their Live@edu service. Live@edu is more than just email. It is an ultimate suite of applications - mobile, desktop and web-based - to help you collaborate on campus, and create a community that lasts a lifetime. Live@edu provides hosted email, calendars, online workspaces, mobile alerts, document sharing, instant messaging, blogs, videoconferencing, mobile access and address books, all accessible on Windows, Mac, Linux and mobile devices. Live@edu accounts require an "Email Address" and a "Password". Email addresses are created for students when they are accepted at Edinboro University. They consist of an 8 digit random username with '@scots.edinboro.edu' appended to the end of that username. For example, if Jane Doe's username is "JD090345" her email address would be JD090345@scots.edinboro.edu. Initial eMail passwords are the same as the initial network account passwords which are randomly created and these passwords are included in a seperate acceptance letter which is mailed to all new students.

Employee account

Employee Network Account
consists of an "Email Address" and a "Password". Email addresses are created for employees within a few days after they are officially employed by Edinboro University. They consist of an 8 digit username with '@edinboro.edu' appended to the end of that username. Usernames consist of the employee's first initial plus their last name. For example, an employee by the name of John P. Worker would have a username of "JWorker" and his email address would be JWorker@edinboro.edu. If the username matches an existing username then the middle initial is included so in the example above John P. Worker's username would become JPWorker and his email address would by JPWorker@edinboro.edu. If the first and middle initial plus the last name exist then other letters from the first name will be added until a unique username is created. For the purposes of security, the structure of an Employee's inital password will not be divulged on this publicly viewable page. If you are a new employee, please contact the Technology Help Center at 732-2111 for assistance in accessing your account for the first time.

Changing Your Employee Account Password - You should change your password often and it is a requirement that you have to change your password within every 90 days. You should also change it whenever you suspect that your password has been compromised. IMPORTANT: ALL EMPLOYEES need to complete the password registration steps by answering 4 security questions. Registration will provide you with the ability to create a new password if you ever forget your password. Otherwise, those who forget their password who have not registered will be required to bring their employee ID to the Technology Help Center during business hours to have their passwords changed. To manage your password and update your security questions you need to enter the key words "Scots Tools" in any keyword search field on Edinboro's website and choose the appropriate option under the password management section.
