Ms. Tina Mengine
Tina Mengine – a well-known fund-raising and strategic marketing executive and consultant was named Vice President for University Advancement/Communications and Marketing in January 2012 following a national search.
Mengine, the Chief of Staff to former Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper and former Erie Mayor Rick Filippi, has more than two decades of experience in marketing and communications and a proven record of fund-raising in both the non-profit and political sectors.
As Vice President for Advancement, Mengine becomes the University’s chief fund-raising official, overseeing major gifts and scholarship endowments, as well as Alumni Relations.
Having been the key fund-raiser and executive in charge of capital campaigns for such non-profits as the Therapeutic Riding Equestrian Center, the Boys and Girls Club of Erie, and the highly successful CelebrateErie events, she had been active in the community as well, serving on numerous boards. She has received professional recognition in the form of many advertising awards, and was a recipient of the 2007 Women Making History Award from the Mercy Center for Women.
A graduate of Pittsburgh’s LaRoche College with a Bachelor of Science degree, Mengine’s proven fund-raising track record, her reputation as a strong and effective leader, and her keen insight and knowledge of budget management, communications and marketing, was well-received by the University community in meetings with various campus constituencies during the interview process.
