Valerie O. Hayes, J.D., M.S.W.
Valerie O. Hayes, J.D., M.S.W. is the Director of Social Equity and University Ombudsperson.
Ms Hayes joined Edinboro University in June 2007 bringing with her extensive experience in the profession of affirmative action, equal opportunity and diversity, with most of her career experience in higher education. She also serves as the chief diversity officer. As University Ombudsperson, she provides information, advice, intervention, mediation, and referrals to ensure that members of the University community receive fair and equitable treatment.
Hayes holds a B.A. from the University of Connecticut and a M.S.W. from the University of Connecticut's School of Social Work. She also earned a J.D. from the University of Bridgeport's School of Law (now the Quinnipiac School of Law).
