Andrew C. Lawlor is the Associate Vice President for Technology and Communications at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. As a member of the executive team, he is responsible for the strategic direction and planning for information technology at the University. Recent special projects spearheaded by Technology and Communications include launching of a University portal (my.edinboro.edu), installation of wireless hotspots in common and academic areas of the campus, implementation of a pilot virtual terminal lab, and creation and adoption of an open source web content management system for the University website including building departmental web pages. Under his leadership, Technology and Communications provided technical and logistical support in the development of Edinboro University's distance learning program. More recently, Andrew has assisted in conducting leadership development sessions for the University.
After beginning his college career in an engineering program, Andrew's penchant for teaching and learning caused him to change directions, earning his Bachelor of Science in Education from University of Pittsburgh, and his Masters of Education from Gannon University (with an emphasis on educational computing). After pursuing additional credits in computer science and instructional technology, Andrew earned his Ph.D. at Kent State University in Educational Administration, concentrating on Higher Education Leadership.
