          Exploratory Students

Students entering college are often unsure about their academic or career goals. The Academic Success advisors at Edinboro University are knowledgeable and committed to helping exploratory students identify their interests, strengths and goals.

A Special Message for Edinboro University’s Exploratory Students

As Academic Advisor to all exploratory students on our campus, I am very pleased to assist you as you move toward a successful future. Whether you’re just confused about majors and careers or taking steps toward the major of your choice, rest assured that exploratory status is a very common temporary path for many Edinboro students of all ages and backgrounds. More than 20% of each year’s first-year class is comprised of undeclared students.

I am a seasoned advisor, having worked here at Edinboro University for many years. I'm knowledgeable about all of the majors on campus and connected with faculty in departments across campus. Consultation with your exploratory advisor is suggested for any or all of the following issues:

          • Scheduling classes
          • Priority scheduling
          • Dropping, adding or withdrawing from classes
          • Midterm grades
          • Changing/declaring your major
          • Unsatisfactory academic work
          • Withdrawal from EU
          • Referrals for academic or personal problems
          • Career planning
          • Questions about internships & graduate study

I invite you to meet with me in the Academic Success Center on the 2nd floor of the Baron-Forness Library. You can sign up for advising on the schedules posted on my office door:

Dr. Elizabeth Iglesias in 201-D, or email eiglesias@edinboro.edu.

I look forward to working with you as you journey to your future major at Edinboro University!

          Sincerely,
          Dr. Elizabeth Iglesias
